We Welcome You Johnny to India

21 October 2014

We extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to you, dear Johnny, as you grace us with your presence here in our midst. We believe it is the divine hand of the Lord that led you to Chennai, India, where you can receive the necessary medical attention you require.

As you undergo your treatment, we lift up our hearts and voices in prayer, beseeching the Almighty God who knit you together in your mother's womb with fear and wonder, to be with you every step of the way. May His mighty hand guide the hands of your caregivers, as they carry out the right procedures on you, holding you close in His loving embrace. May He bring healing to your body, and strength to your soul, so that you may be a beacon of hope and blessing to all those around you.

We, as a church, join our voices together in fervent prayer for you, your beloved sister Sophia, and your dear parents Elizabeth and David. May the Lord bless and keep you, and may His face shine upon you, now and forevermore.

Here are a few snapshots that I captured on my mobile phone during my visits to the hospital, which I hope will bring a smile to your face and uplift your spirits.

The night, a day after Johnny arrived at the hospital

We are really sorry that Jessy had to be away from Chennai after this visit,
to attend to our elder daughter..

Johnny was in the ICU for a day. After he was brought to the room....

He had some breathing support given externally

The following day....
Look here....

"We are all looking forward to seeing Johnny again - most of all his father and sister. However, please do not let them rush home until the surgeon and cardiologist say that he is stable and ready to return to a remote area with fairly limited health care." Johnny's pediatrician AKA Dr. Helen)

"Few mins ago Chief Dr. Cherian, visited Johnny during his ward run and said that probably next Thursday/Friday will return home, he said he will email CFF to make bookings for Johnny n me to travel back..Our Church has been very supportive from the day when Johnny was transferred from GKA to POM GEN. Johnny is OK but his chest belongs m gat lik2 kus so they're  putting him on a nebulizer..much love from Johnny and I. GOD BLESS!!"  - Elizabeth

Thanks for this update, Elizabeth.  We rejoice that Johnny may be strong enough to return home soon!  Praise the Lord!  I will pass this on to the BTA family.  We will pray that this kus will go away quickly.  Love back to you two.  - Mark Trostle

Elizabeth, we had a team of people from BTA go to Lower Sogeri United church today and we had wonderful fellowship with them.  They love you all so much and are so supportive of you and Johnny.  They are holding a walkathon and movie nights to raise funds.  I showed them the photos Philipose  sent this morning and they were excited to see them.  They send their love to the two of you, as do we.  - Mark Trostle

Dear Elizabeth,   Thank you so much. We are so glad and happy to hear from you. We are praying with you and John.   God bless  -  Steven

Praise the Lord!  It was His hand in this entire situation.
God has shown me in renewed ways this past week that He is indeed sovereign and that He is our Healer. .......
Now the Lord has used a surgeon in India to be the healing hands for another of our PNG body - and has used His people in Chennai to encourage and support us during this time.
He is a Good and Great God - even in the midst of difficult times.  In fact, it is the difficult times in which God's strength can shine thru. So thank you!   - Dr. Helen Chapaitis
